INNOVATION IN HEATING AND COOLING

Foil Insulation

Comfort Coil has a 100% foil insulation for easy cleaning and quiet operation.

Noncorrosive Components

The two-way, sloped, noncorrosive drain pan prevents standing water, which significantly affects indoor air quality. And the all-aluminum, rust-resistant construction keeps the evaporator coil nearly corrosion-free, making it tougher on preventing leaks.

Easy Access

Makes cleaning and servicing easier, which in turn leads to higher efficiency and longer life.

Painted Finish

Our evaporator coils provide increased protection from rust and corrosion and matches your furnace color.

External Service Port

Quicker and easier serviceability.

Our Trane evaporator coils are also designed to work in tandem with your outdoor condensing unit and/or furnace. They are matched in size, efficiency and capacity to ensure optimal performance of your home comfort system.

When it comes to your home comfort system, there’s more to the story

Take a look at your home comfort system. If you have an air conditioner outside, then you may also have an indoor coil and furnace inside. You might say the evaporator coil is the other, less visible part of your system. While an A/C or heat pump evaporator coil may be a component that you’re not very familiar with, it’s just as important to your home’s comfort as your air conditioner or heat pump. And, because the coil was designed to work in tandem with your outdoor unit and furnace, it’s important that they match in both size and capacity.

Trane can help you make a perfect match

A matched system gives you maximum performance and efficiency. A certified Trane Comfort Specialist from Central Heating & Air can help you select the right heat pump or A/C evaporator coil. Remember, your outdoor condensing unit and your indoor coil work together as a team – a new air conditioner’s efficiency will be significantly reduced if it’s paired with an old, existing coil. An older coil may even differ in cooling capacity, leaving you with an unbalanced system and higher-than-necessary utility bills.

All-aluminum Comfort™ coils

With a strong heritage in aluminum outdoor coils, Trane has applied our innovative thinking to develop the industry’s first all-aluminum indoor coil. Rust-resistant and almost corrosion-free, our all-aluminum evaporator coils set a new industry standard by preventing leaks that often occur from corrosives like salt or common household cleaning products.

Precision-engineered for reliable performance and quality

Each Trane Comfort™ Coil is designed to provide your family with outstanding comfort all year round. At Trane, we strive to bring you the highest quality and performance through innovative technology and precision engineering. So when you choose the right evaporator coil, you can be sure you’ll enjoy the benefits of the best home comfort system money can buy.

Tested for durability

Like all of the components in our high-quality home comfort systems, each evaporator coil goes through a rigorous testing stage to ensure durability and reduce leaks. We test each coil with pressurized helium to 325 pounds per square inch. This allows us to detect a leak as small as .10 ounce per year. A small amount, we know, but because any leak will lower your system’s efficiency, any leak is unacceptable. Lasting durability means your home will be comfortable now and for years to come.

Cleaner air makes your family breathe easier

Indoor coils are often dirty because they’re usually difficult to clean. But a Trane Comfort Coil is designed for easy cleaning. If your home’s indoor coil has never been cleaned, it could look filthy. However, Trane evaporator coils are made with 100% foil-backed insulation, so they can be easily wiped down. The result is a cleaner coil and cleaner air for your family. So, whether you clean it yourself or include it in a basic service contract (recommended), a clean comfort coil will yield higher performance and cleaner air in your home.

HOW EVAPORATOR Evaporator Coils Maintenance COILS WORK

Evaporator coils work with the indoor unit, functioning with the air conditioner or heat pump to cool and condition indoor air that flows over it by drawing out heat and moisture. Its job, heat transfer, is one of the most important factors in achieving heating and cooling efficiencies that keep your home comfortable all year long.

An evaporator coil is located indoors and is either installed with your furnace or as part of your air handler. Inside the coil, the refrigerant evaporates as it absorbs heat from the indoor air that passes over it. Coils essentially serve as a “heat exchanger,” working with your heating system in the winter and your cooling system in the summer.

Whether you need an A/C evaporator coil, furnace coil, or a matched heat pump evaporator coil, a Trane Comfort Specialist from Central Heating & Air can help you choose the best option for your HVAC system.
